How to download CMapp:
CMapp can be downloaded directly from the sourceforge project page. Please download the most recent version (as of 23.09.2005 there is only one version released, so there is no problem yet). This will ensure that, should there be bugs etc., bug reports will refer to the most recent version and not to older versions where the bugs might since then have been fixed.

UPDATE!!! SNAPSHOTS NOW AVAILABLE
Since October 31st 2005, we are uploading .tar.gz snapshots of the CMapp application, as often as possible. Whereas it isn't likely that we'll get around to doing this every night, we hope to have a new snapshot at least once a week. These snapshots are not supposed to be production releases which means, be careful with how you use them. Snapshots are generally the best way to see the new features or to see how the application runs on your host system. Developers are better off with CVS access, but can also use the snapshots for reference.

The snapshots are available on the following page:http://cmapp.sourceforge.net/index.php?location=snapshots

UPDATE!!! CVS ACCESS NOW AVAILABLE
Since October 30th 2005, the latest version of CMapp can be obtained from the Sourceforge CVS repository. For users without experience with the Sourceforge CVS tool, it is recommended that you read the following document carefully: http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?group_id=1&docid=29894.
Anonymous access to the repository can be obtained through the following CVS commands (it is taken for granted that you have a capable CVS client installed on your linux machine, or an equivalent program on Windows):

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/cmapp login

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/cmapp co -P cmapp

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/cmapp checkout cmapp

Developers - don't forget to change pserver to ext - else you won't be able to update. Remember to set SSH properly!

What to be aware of:
The CMapp application is in a pre-alpha release state. This means that a basic version has been patched together for release purposes. This may (does) contain bugs which mean that CMapp should not be used in a production environment. It is possible to use the setup wizard to set up the database and database tables. It is also possible to add and administer users and to add/modify and delete contracts (as well as uploading scanned documents in .pdf format) and contract amendments. There are a number of "advanced features" added such as the ability to administer contract/project owners and to administer your own news messages. However, these features have only been implemented in a basic manner. There is a lot of work ahead! As well as the relatively basic stage of implementation of features, the user interface has been designed mostly with PHP generated HTML and Javascript. We badly need someone with experience in designing user interfaces - or someone to comment/criticize what we're doing. Anyone with CSS experience is welcome, as well as anyone who might want to gain experience on working on a project. Just sign up on Sourceforge if you haven't already done so and join up on the project page which can be found here!
